Dr Alan Fong
Dr Alan Fong is a Clinical Cardiologist at Sarawak General Hospital, Kuching. He is also Secretary to the Clinical Research Centre, Sarawak General Hospital. He graduated from University of Bristol (UK) in 1999 and obtained completed post-graduate training in General Medicine in 2003 (MRCP, UK).
He returned to serve with the Department of Cardiology, Sarawak General Hospital in 2005. His areas of interest within the subspecialty of Cardiology include Cardiovascular imaging and Cardiovascular Research. Within his scope of work, he is participating in over 20 Phase II and III Clinical Trials. His current publications include clinical trials and review articles published in international journals including the American Heart Hospital Journal, European Journal of Radiology and American Heart Journal.
Regionally, he has presented research at ASEAN Congress of Cardiology and, for the last two years, at the National Heart Association of Malaysia Annual Scientific Meetings. He has also been invited to speak at CME programs on various aspects of Cardiovascular Disease within Malaysia and overseas.
He has also co-written chapters in the National Medicines Use Survey 2005, and is actively participating in the ongoing National Cardiovascular Disease Registry (NCVD-ACS and NCVD-PCI). He is also a reviewer on the National Medical Research Registry.
